I needed some shorter lamps. I do like these except for 2 issues. The USB ports are lit, which is handy I guess to plug into at night, but if you don't have cords in them they are bright! Solved with some silicone USB plugs. The lamps are so short that an average adult hand has to maneuver under the shade to use the pull cord. But overall these were a good purchase.The bulb on my old IKEA lamp finally blew, and it was actually cheaper to replace the lamp than to buy a new bulb. Sooooooo..... I picked this lamp, because I liked how it looked, it had good ratings, and I like the idea of the USB. I am very happy with it, but there are a couple of things that you need to know.First of all, when you put on the shade, *READ THE DIRECTIONS* I tried installing the bulb first, and the shade wouldn't go on. I finally figured out that you have to put on the shade first, and *THEN* screw in the bulb. I should have figured that out, but hey... My partner *does* say that I'm the "least observant person on the planet." :)Once I got it installed, I was very happy with it. It sits on my bedside table, and gives me all the light I need. The two USB ports will charge both my Iphone and Ipad at the same time, and do them pretty quickly.The other thing to know, is that there are two switches on the lamp. The chain on the lamp itself, and also an on/off switch on the cord. If the cord switch is turned off, the lamp won't come on with the chain, and the USB's won't charge. The best thing to do is to just make sure the cord switch is on, and leave it alone from there.A good unit. I am very happy with it.I purchased a pair of these lamps for my office. I liked the size and look, as well as the USB port for charging. I was pleasantly surprised when they came. Both were boxed up, wrapped nicely and packaged well. Putting them together was a piece of cake and took about 30 seconds. They came with lightbulbs, one which was burned out, so I'm not sure if it was previous used before or just a lemon. Either way, not the biggest deal, as I had extras. There are switches on the cords to make turning them on/off convenient. The base is sturdy, the chains are easy to pull, the shades are a nice fabric and the rustic design goes nicely with my desk. The brighter lamp is actually the one with the bulb that came with it, and the less illuminated lamp is the one I used my own bulb in, which I actually like better and will probably do the same with the other lamp. Just my personal preference, as I find a lower wattage gives my office a nice, calming ambient atmosphere, which is more soothing. All together, I'm happy with my purchase and would recommend to potential buyers.I ordered 2 lamps for my bedroom. The size is perfect! Its not a huge lamp. I got the classic black and it's a beautiful wood finished lamp. The one lamp I got came with a missing USB plug in but its not a big deal to me. The lamp is plugged where my cell phone charger is. It did not come with a bulb but I use the Alexa one anyways. The other lamp DID came with the USB plug in and a light bulb. I wanted to see how bright the bulb was so I put that one in. I decided I wanted the other bulb I had taken out to put in it until I got another Alexa bulb. The bulb was on for less than 20 seconds and got really hot so be careful if you use it. I'm not sure if its just the one I got.I really like the lamp itself. It's cute and functional, seems well made enough, and the chargers are great. But, I wouldn't recommend them to someone else... I ordered one two days ago that was delivered yesterday. I loved it so much I decided to get a second one for my other nightstand that arrived today. Although I ordered from the exact same company, same ASIN, same color, they're a bit different, and that's really disappointing. Yes, they're functional, but lamps are also a decor piece in a room and now I have mismatched lamps. One came with a light bulb, the other did not. One has a brand printed on the front (obnoxiously, might I add), the other does not. This week Target is having a sale on lamps so if I find a comparable set, I'll end up returning these.So this unit is not entirely like the photo. The unit is smaller than I expected. But the measurements they provide are accurate so that is on me. But the base is not brown with a faux wood finish like in the primary photo. It is simple black plastic. But on the plus side it doesn't have the "SILJOY" logo on it.But the main problem is the lamp shade. It sits very low. The top of the 40 Watt CFL sits only a half an inch from the top of the lampshade. If you were to use a larger incandescent or LED bulb, it would stick out. When looking down on the lamp it appears the the bulb sticks out from the shade. The fact that it doesn't is irrelevant. It is all about appearance. If it appears that the bulb is higher than the shade, then the aesthetics of the piece is bad. And since I am using this on a nightstand, everyone will be looking down on it. I don't have it on a high shelf.Also, the pull chain is very close to the base and the amount of space under the shade to get to it is not really enough to comfortably find it and pull it. The chain was one of the main reasons I chose this lamp. I don't want to try to find a switch on the cord.It is only a nightstand lamp for the guest bedroom that will get very little use. So it will suffice for now. But I will eventually go to a fancy lamp store to see if I can get a similarly sized lamp shade that sits higher. That way the bulb will appear to be completely within the shade and there will be more space below to access the chain.I tested both the USB ports and they work. Do not know how fast they charge.Glad I did not get this for my main bedroom. Otherwise I would return it and buy one of the other lamps that have a similar design but are larger.Sparks shot out from usb ports, do not buy. Dangerous fire hazard. Very scary and smelled like it burned itself out, almost burned the wood table it was on.Good table fixture.It fits well in my room and it gives enough light and looks very elegant, I'm very satisfied with the product. I would recommend buying it.Il manque un anneau pour faire tenir l'abajour sur 1 des 2 lampes. On a essayer dans trouver dans un magasin près de chez nous et nous ne sommes pas capable d' en trouver. J' aimerais retourner 1 lampe avec la pièce manquante et en recevoir une nouvelle et cette fois avec toute ses pièces. Très décevantGreat lamp, very compact and perfect for what I need. only downfall is the shade is flimsy and does not screen into anything and so it ends up crocked very oftenBright, pretty and practical.Smaller than i thought it was goin to be but it works great for a night stand.lack of component, I'm quite upset.
